If you’ve just finished engineering mathematics courses or similar and are looking to take your next step on the career ladder, perhaps look to Ellesmere Port-based Yorkwall Engineering, which has just received funding from MSIF and NatWest to create 20 new jobs and grow its turnover to over £1 million.
The company itself designs, manufactures and installs a wide range of products, including structural steel, pipework, platforms, tanks, vessels and conveyor systems, with clients from all sectors including marine, oil and gas, construction, retail and petrochemical, Bdaily reports.
“The funding will be used to invest in marketing, new employees and equipment enabling the business to enhance its offering to include a variety of machining, fabrication, welding, structural, mechanical engineering, laser cutting and site services. All staff are highly experienced at working with a variety of steel and non-ferrous materials to carry out precise and intricate engineering projects,” managing director Jonathan Willoughby was quoted by the news source as saying.
Other potential job opportunities to look out for in the near future include up to 1,500 high-quality engineering roles set to be created at Boscombe Down, where Boeing Defence UK intends to base its operations and create a centre of excellence.
According to the Salisbury Journal, the commercial and military aircraft manufacturer is keen to expand its UK workforce from 1,300 to 4,000 by the year 2025 – so keep an eye out for further announcements if you think this company is one you’d like to work for. The Boscombe site will be the company’s biggest investment in the UK since it first came to the country back in 2007.
